Erin Moran Happy Days Star Dies At 56

Erin Moran, 'Happy Days' Star, Dies at 56

Actress Known for Playing Joanie Cunningham on Sitcom

Moran Had Battled Addiction in Recent Years

Erin Marie Moran-Fleischmann, who played Joanie Cunningham on the television sitcom "Happy Days," has died at the age of 56.

Moran's body was found Saturday inside her Indiana home, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office. The cause of death is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.

Moran was born in Burbank, California, on October 18, 1960. She began her acting career as a child, appearing in commercials and small roles on television shows. She joined the cast of "Happy Days" in 1974, when she was 13 years old.

Moran played Joanie Cunningham, the younger sister of Richie Cunningham (played by Ron Howard). Joanie was a tomboy who often got into trouble with her brother, but she was also a kind and caring person.

Moran's character became a popular figure with viewers, and she remained on the show until it ended in 1984. After "Happy Days," Moran appeared in a number of other television shows and movies, but she never achieved the same level of success as she did on "Happy Days."

In recent years, Moran had battled addiction. She had been in and out of rehab several times, and she had lost a significant amount of weight.

Moran's death is a sad reminder of the dangers of addiction. It is a disease that can affect anyone, regardless of their age or background. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please reach out for help.
